Multiple Ultrasounds in Third Trimester?

Hi Ladies, can you tell me what your doctor has recommended for ultrasounds in the last trimester. That is if you are having a normal pregnancy.
My u/s office and the nurse at my OB seem to think the doctor told me I need monthly growth ultrasounds (I am 28 weeks) until I am 32 weeks and then weekly ultrasounds until delivery! I have never heard of such a thing! And honestly am not sure how necessary all that is. I highly doubt my insurance would cover all that! 
Curious to hear what other doctors have suggested. Thank you!

I have one at every appointment, which will be weekly the last month. I kind of love that my OB does that, it’s nice to get to check in frequently. They have a portable US machine right in the office.

I’m no help lol I had over 30 between 24 weeks and 34 weeks when I delivered.

I had about 9 from 4-20 weeks, but I haven’t had one since and don’t believe that I will.

That’s so many! Our last ultrasound was at my 22-week anatomy scan. I wont have any more unless there’s a complication. If you’re in the US, the standard of care by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology says most women only need one ultrasound at 18-22 weeks (the anatomy scan). And early scan may be done at 8-10 weeks if there were previous issues (like multiple miscarriages, etc.). There are no more that are recommended or considered medically necessary beyond the anatomy scan unless there are issues or complications.

For my first pregnancy, From 20-35 weeks, I only had 9 ultrasounds, and I was considered high risk due to having twins, preterm labor, and a shortened cervix.  My second pregnancy was regular, no complications, and I didn't have a single ultrasound after 20 weeks.  For my current pregnancy,y ob wants to do growth scans because I haven't gained any weight.  I had one at 20 weeks, 32 weeks, and I'll have one more at 36 weeks.

I only was supposed to have 3 my last one at 20 weeks! my dr thinks my baby is big at 38 weeks so she scheduled me for a growth scan on Wednesday when I hit 39 weeks but I wasn't supposed to have more after 20 weeks

I'm going through a birthing center with a low risk second pregnancy and there haven't been any ultrasounds after 20 weeks. unless something exceptionally worrisome is identified in my next two appointments (basically all I'm going to have before baby), I don't expect anymore. I'm 33 weeks now

I was diagnosed with marginal umbilical cord insertion at my 20 week ultrasound and was told I would need regular growth ultrasounds starting at 28 weeks. Since then, I’ve had ultrasounds at 28, 32, and 36 weeks. That seemed sufficient for their concerns?

Wow. I had an ultrasound at 30 weeks but that was just to check on the low lying placenta. But that’s it. Now that the placenta moved we aren’t having anymore.

it depends on the office you see. here in southern West Virginia if you see Dr. Patton, you get an ultrasound at every appointment cause he wants to make sure baby is growing right. his office is located in Beckley WV but he delivers in Charleston which is what i like about him since Beckley WV has an awful hospital. but if you go to the Associates here, you'll get around 3 ultrasound. one ultrasound per trimester.
