Going home outfit for Texas heat?

FTM here, as I’m sure will be obvious as soon as you read my post. 😂 So I’m due July 26, and we live in Texas so it will be HOT. I’m trying to pick out a going home outfit but struggling. I know newborns don’t retain heat as well as we do, but it’s going to be hot as hell anyway! Do I pack a onesie and pants or a romper? Obviously I’ll have a blanket with me to put over him since we’ll be blasting the AC, but I’m just so paranoid if I bring a romper he’ll be too cold! I’m sure once I get to know him a little better and learn how he tolerates different temperatures it will be easier, but for now I’m stumped.

same here but im due in august lol i already got her onsie with her name and matching headband done but I need to pick some cute shorts out lol and make sure she has her own blanket like her brother did lol we never would forget his avengers blanket lol

Dress your child like you would dress yourself. Worst thing to do is over heat of course blanket like u said for the car ride

My son was born July 21st, in Southern CA, so it was 115° the day we came home from the hospital 😫 Since we moved from AC building to AC car to AC house, I just put him in a onsie and a pj outfit. It worked fine. I know my SIL just put her kiddos, with similar weather, in onsie and pants.

I’m due July 26th as well.. I’m from California & it gets around 100-110 here in July 😩😩 I’m just going to pack a onesie that I special ordered & a pair of shorts to go with it.. I’ll have a light little blanket for the car as well lol
