Nurses ranting about how annoying some patients are (at the hospital itself)
So my sister was doing volunteer work at a hospital, in which she told me how nurses would complain and rant to her about how annoying some patients are and that some of the nurses would refer to certain patients as assholes. Apparently a nurse referred to a patient as an asshole because he called her all the way to his room to hand him the remote...perhaps he was in pain, had IV strapped to him, etc.
I was totally taken back by that behavior. Like wtf?! I understand some patients can be extremely rude and annoying, but most of the patients are in a state where they’re completely stressed out about their health and are helpless. The patients rely on staff for compassion/patience/and care. I found that behavior totally unprofessional😡
