5 week old not growing ?

Question

Hi ladies so my baby girl was born weighing 7lbs 2 oz and her length was 20 1/2 now at her one month check up she gained weight she’s now 9lbs 12oz but she’s still 20 1/2.
Has anyone else experienced that?

We were at the pediatrician yesterday and my daughter had only gained 3/4th of an inch which they said not to worry about.  The doctor said the method used to get their height is so inaccurate since they don’t cooperate and pull their legs up

It is very hard to get the accurate length of a newborn- they often get it wrong! At the hospital they told us her son is 22 inches but at his five-day appointment the pediatrician measured him 21 1/4. So did my son shrink? Of course not. They just don’t like their legs stretched out straight I think the nurses just do it quick. No worries! Most likely they just measured her long the first time. She looks fabulous and very healthy - I’m sure she’s growing.
