If you had the option to be induced at 39 weeks, but it wasn’t medically necessary would you?

Found out my doctor is willing to induce at 39 weeks no questions asked. I was induced with my last one and I’m not going to lie it was really convenient to know when the baby was going to come. I worry about going into labor at midnight and having no one to watch my son. It would be nice to have it set up so I can have a babysitter lined up for my son. I have no family so I have to depend on friends. But I’m probably being selfish.

Personally no, I would prefer to wait until labour starts naturally. I can understand why you would want to though, do whatever you think - it’s your body!

They required me to be induced at 39 weeks and it was horrible.  After three days of induced labor they finally let me have a csection.  I firmly believe that he just wasn’t ready to come out.  I really wish they would have let me go into labor on my own, but I understand why they didn’t.  If there is no medical necessity then I would definitely say no to an induction.

I wouldn't. partly because I feel that baby will come when baby is ready. I don't like the idea of meddling when it's not needed. (not just with child birth)
but it's up to you! if it make you less stressed, then go for it!

I wouldn’t, just because I’ve heard being induced makes labor and delivery much more painful, and longer & a friend of mine was recently induced and ended up having to have an emergency c section because it put too much stress on the baby

I did it with my first. Would have with my second but he came at 38 wks
