So, my husband and I got married this past Saturday (it was incredibly magical ✨).

We were both virgins, and we decided to take things slow. We discussed how we felt about the situation and we decided that if we didn’t didn’t complete the process in the first night that it would be okay and that we would just focus on foreplay and pleasing each other. And wow, our first night was ahhhmazing. It was beautiful and perfect. We toyed around with penetration a bit, but decided to keep it magical and save the painful part for another night.

And so. The next day we arrived at our cabin and I felt them. A whole week before they were supposed to come. The horrid cramps. Mother Nature was knocking. Aunt flow had arrived, honking her obnoxious horn.

My sweet, sweet husband was so tender and understanding. I know he was disappointed, as we had both been anticipating this for a while. But he assured me that we didn’t need to try until I was comfortable. I was frustrated and emotional and disappointed and I WANTED to have SEX! So I asked him to try. And we did. And I cried. So we stopped and took a shower together.

The next day things went better. A LOT better! He turned on some romantic music and oh my, my husband is a sex god, for sure. He was so gentle and patient. It hurt like heck, but we worked through it together, and once we were finished it felt like Victory!

The rest of the week went wonderfully. With the exception of having to take out my tampon every time we wanted to fool around, and finally my period came to an end.

But this afternoon it started again! I was just wondering if having sex for the first time can mess up your cycle. Is my body confused? I definitely am...
