Biological kids vs step kids

I have two step kids who I adore. I love them more than anything. My step daughter and I are especially close. I met her when she was 3 and she has no memories before I came along. My step son just turned 15. His Mom has a wife so he’s used to the step Mom thing. When his Dad and I got married last July he said to me “Now I have 3 Moms!” They are just the best!

So, my husband and I are hoping to add to our family and I’ve had a couple people completely brush off my step kids. Saying I don’t know Love for a child yet. When I bring them up I get the “oh that’s not the same at all!” “Yeah I’m sure they are great but you have no idea what love is until you hold your own” etc. This really offends me. I would like to think that having bio kids will only make my love for my step kids grow. We will all be even more connected.
