GD and a small baby?

So I have gestational diabetes but my baby is measuring a week behind. I'm 38 weeks and she's 6lbs 5oz. Has this happened to anyone else? Could it be wrong? I had to have an emergency ultrasound yesterday because the doctor was so concerned about her measuring so small, but she's only measuring a week behind... but now I'm nervous that she's not getting enough nutrients or something. Does anyone know how much babies grow in the last couple weeks? I'm thinking she'll be just under 7lbs if she's born at 40 weeks.   Usually with GD you have big babies! So I'm confused

Has your GD been easily and well controlled? Do you rarely exceed the glucose range set by your doc? 
The same thing has happened to me. I’ve had very well controlled GD and at 36+4 he was measuring 5lbs. 2oz. I’m not sure where he is now at almost 39 weeks. My fundal height was 37cm. My fundal height has consistently measured small and I’m overweight (size 14). I did gain little weight from this pregnancy because I was so worried about the GD I was obsessive about carb counting and daily high impact cardio. I’m up about 8lbs. from my pre-preg weight.
Once I saw how small he was I panicked that I over did it and starved my kid! I wonder if sometimes doctors get us so worked up and paranoid about mild GD and having a monster baby some of us who are borderline may go too far on carb and calorie restriction.
I wish I had actual advice. I just wanted to let you know you weren’t alone.
