Why do people struggling to get pregnant have to make everything about them?

I should be allowed to enjoy my pregnancy without my sister downing me for being younger and unmarried. I overheard her telling our mom that she deserves to be the pregnant one.

A lot women who have been ttc feel this way because they just want their turn to have a baby and they get jealous of ones who have no trouble getting pregnant and the ones who get pregnant and turn around not wanting their kids I know you may be annoyed by it but just brush it off she’ll have her day she’s just upset that you’re pregnant and she’s not that happens I had my first super easy my second took 2 and a half years my third took a month I’ve been on both sides just brush it off.

I know what you mean. On the one hand I see how this can be a horrible situation for people ttc and even worse if it's your relation who has become pregnant but I also really want to be happy about my pregnancy too!! I want to be able to scream it from the roof tops but I cant without upsetting others so you have to just keep it in... very sad...

It's like any other case of jealousy, it sucks to see everyone around you have what you want (be it a new car, a dream job, a pregnancy or anything else.) I would try to have a little compassion for your sister. HOWEVER, this doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy every moment of your pregnancy. Do any of the things you wanted to do to show off and celebrate. You are growing a human afterall! You becoming pregnant didn't stop her (or anyone else) from being pregnant. It just isn't her turn yet. Hopefully she can learn to see it that way and be happy for you. Don't let anybody steal your joy.

It's really annoying and I get where you are coming from.
I have been ttc for almost a year now and still no luck.
And yes I do have days that I get my period and be like fml not again but I never ever take it out on others or feel like what the hell I should be pregnant and not others.

She's probably in pain. She didn't say it to hurt you she's just venting her frustration and hurt to your mum. Try and see it from her point of view as well, you are getting the thing she wants more than anything and she's no idea if or when she will be lucky enough to be in your position. She's not trying to hurt you, it's just hard on her. I'm sure she loves you and can't wait for her niece or nephew to arrive deep down. Try not to let it impact your pregnancy, enjoy this time in your life.

“Our man” ? No judgment. Just genuinely confused. Also, I’m really sorry you’re experiencing this with your sister. I can see both side having struggled with ttc and then getting pregnant and feeling shame from others ttc. I had people tell me I didn’t work hard enough for my baby bc I only tried for a year. My best friend at the time told me she deserved a baby more than me because she had more miscarriages. I’m not defending your sister, at all. All I’m saying is, there’s nothing you can really do about it. You can tell her how you feel, and that it’s not your fault she isn’t pregnant bc it isn’t. I know it’s hard to ignore the negativity but try to focus on the positive, your baby deserves a happy mommy
