Should baby father support the mother too ?

I was reading something on instagram and it says that the baby father should respect, buy the child’s things and support the baby mother and i honestly don’t know what to think about that.

I’m currently 19 and struggling of course but i get no support, respect or anything from my child’s father. He has never bought milk, diapers, wipes or nothing, he’s 22 and still worried about smoking, drinking and having sex with anything he see 🤷🏾‍♀️ but after reading that post I just don’t know how to feel about all this.

I feel like he should respect her and buy the child things but support her too ?

I mean I’m probably wrong because i don’t even get a text from him unless he want something or needs a favor.
