First MD appointment — are u going alone or bringing significant other?

Hi everyone! I’m so thankful we have this forum to help each other along. I made my first MD appointment (it’s at about 8 weeks). The receptionist said that I can bring my spouse if I want to, but some people wait until the 20 week ultrasound because “you can see a little more.”  What is everyone doing? Are you going alone or bringing someone with you for the first appointment ?

Alone, this is our second baby, hubby will probably just come to ultrasounds

I'll be bringing my husband with me. It's our first, so I think it's important that he get to experience as much as possible with me. Plus I know having him there will make me feel more relaxed.

My husband lived on a different continent during my first pregnancy and couldn’t come to appointments until the very end. I missed having him there, especially at the first one, which in my case had an ultrasound and we listened to the heart beat. I thought it was so exciting; it made it real. Fortunately I had a super nice doctor who took her time and allowed me to make a video on my phone to send to him. But still, if he could have been there, I would have preferred that. 
This time around (my second) I would still like him to come to some of the ultrasounds. It will be a while until he can really engage with my pregnancy, like feel kicks etc. Until then this is something that can make it real for him, too.

with my last pregnancy my husband went to most of my appointments which really wasnt necessary. this time he will only go to ultrasounds
