I’m a teacher and we already have had a whooping cough outbreak at our school. Better safe than sorry!

That’s a hard yes for me.... and anyone that’s going to be super close to baby girl in her first 3 months (hubby is already looking into whether he’s due for his). I’m all for vaccines because, better safe than sorry as someone else mentioned 😃

I for one will not be getting the vaccine as the vaccine insert even states that it shouldn't be given to a pregnant woman unless clearly needed.                                             The package insert for a popular formulation of TDaP routinely given to pregnant women states:
Safety and effectiveness of this vaccine have not been established in pregnant women. Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with this vaccine. It is also not known whether this vaccine can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or can affect reproduction capacity. This vaccine should be given to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed.

My cousin was on a ventilator at 5 weeks old due to the whooping cough. She got it just because some kids that had runny noses were around her (their mom was a friend of my cousin and came to see the baby) anyways, she almost died from it. So it’s more of a personal thing to me. I definitely recommend getting it. My hubby, his parents, and my parents are getting it. And anyone else (other than the great grands) that want to be around her a lot will have to have it to see her. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 
It’s totally up to you. But it’s definitely not just a pointless shot.

I got mine about a month ago and my husband got his 2 weeks ago. better safe than sorry. I'm going to mention it to my mother in law when she comes down in a couple of weeks so she can get it as well, since she plans on staying with us the first week after baby is born

I got it at my last appointment. My husband and kids and whoever is going to be around the baby will as well. The vaccine not only protects you but protects the unborn baby as well until the baby gets the shot. My niece’s recently had it and the 3 month old was hospitalized for it. It was a scary thing to see so I am taking extra precautions this time around

I got mine last week, and my hubby will follow suit if he’s due for it. With my oldest, my grandma and my mom both got them just in case, because they care for her regularly (I didn’t even suggest it...they just did it), my husband and I both work with children, and I work in a children’s hospital...there’s no way I’m risking bringing that to my daughter.
