Bailing out

Ladies and gentlemen, I see so many posts about people breaking up with their partners over "silly" comments they might say to make you feel annoyed/upset.. it might be just me but me and my SO say bitchy things when we're having a lovers tiff but I would be even more upset if I broke up with him cos he said I shouldn't eat a slice of cake (for example).... I sit and read some of the posts about boyfriend/girlfriend break ups and think whyyyyy?!? (I get people must have more reasons than just a comment but still)

So ladies and gents, do you agree that people break up too quickly? If you disagree, please explain as i legitimately want to hear other people's perspectives on this..
