Any mamas still cuddle to sleep? Or if you’ve stopped, how???
I always cuddle my fourteen month old to sleep (used to feed to sleep, but stopped that a couple of months ago when I started weaning) and I love it, but it’s getting to a point now where it’s not very practical anymore because half the time when I go to lay my daughter down in her crib after she’s fallen asleep, she wakes up because I can’t lay her down as gently as I used to. If she stays asleep, great! But if she wakes up, I have to walk out and she will cry (not “crying up” or screaming though) for five or ten minutes then go off to sleep. But if I try to put her in her crib while she’s still awake she screams bloody murder for as long as I can stand until I give in and pull her out. It doesn’t matter if I walk out and only come in to shh her every so often or if I stay in the room with her. There is no calming her once I put her in the crib awake unless I take her out, and it’s been like this since day one, hence why I’ve always fed to sleep and now cuddle to sleep. She’s a very affectionate little girl and craves the same back so I feel she needs to fall asleep feeling my warmth and love, but I can’t keep getting her off to sleep then laying her down just for her to wake up because it’s not such a gentle transition now thanks to how heavy she’s getting, never mind the strain on my back 😩
Is anybody else in the same boat? I’m not the only one that has allowed this sleep association to go on for so long am I?😬😂 If anybody has any tips I’d be so thankful!!
