how i cleared my acne <3

k

this worked well for me and i just wanted to share my journey with you so hopefully you can get great results too!

so let me start off by saying the most important things:

- clearing up your skin will take time and effort (it will not be an overnight instant fix like many youtubers bait you into thinking)

- you must have consistency in your routine

- never never NEVER sleep with your makeup on idc if u gotta drag your drunk or high ass to the mirror and clean that shit off

- this may not suit you but my particular regime has worked for so many of my friends

first off let’s start with makeup removers

this is the brand that I personally have just started using, and I honestly like this better than the regular garnier one. and just use regular cotton pads

on nights where i am too drunk/baked or i just can’t be bothered washing my face, i will wipe my face with miscellar water THOROUGHLY. i cannot stress this enough. Generally speaking, I will use 4 or 5 cotton pads until the last pad I use has no trace of foundation left.

«

next it’s time to wash your face!!

so i like to use the cetaphil acne cleanser as cetaphil is a brand that is suited to sensitive skin, so it is so gentle on normal skin and thus particular cleanser reduces the amount of oil your skin produces, in turn preventing your pores from getting clogged and forming pimples.

The St Ives scrub is also really good, and I use it every 3 days or so, and the aesop one is another option is a bit pricey and doesn’t specifically target acne issues.

I also use this cleansing brush. i’m not sure the brand of mine in the pic but I used to use the clarisonic one from sephora, but a cheaper alternative one is from the vanityplanet online store and works just as well!

and make sure you cleanse with warm water !

after washing your face, it is important to use a toner

i personally prefer using a mist, and the sukin and mario mist toners are both so good and cheap. you don’t really need a super good toner, as it’s sole purpose is to close up your pores and prepare your skin for moisturising after coming in contact with warm water. (warm water opens up your pores so now would also be a good time to pop any ripe pimples with the tools pictured further down in the article)

moisturisers:

aesop is a really good brand for skincare, but is a bit on the pricier end. alternatives can be things from the mario badescu range, or you can go to the drug store and talk to the guy/girl at the prescription counter and they usually will be nice enough to recommend u an over the counter moisturiser suited to your situation

«

next up is what you have all been waiting for: acne treatments !!

let me just stress how AMAZING the benzac cream has been. My doctor had originally prescribed me a gel but upon talking to the prescription counter at the drug store, they recommended I tried this cream first, and that was the best decision i made!!! I recommend u sus it out first with a lower percentage, (2.5% or 5%) and then move on to the 10%. i have spoken with skin specialists and they said there is no harm in using the higher concentration and it is so so effective in getting rid of pimples overnight and killing bacteria. you don’t have to specifically use this brand, just make sure benzoyl peroxide is an active ingredient in your brand (brands like oxy and others at the drugstore!)

the mario one is also pretty good but kinda stings a bit so i avoid using it :( but it does dry up individual pimples overnight and is such a good spot treatment

«

lastly is my secret ingredient, the HOLY GRAIL

paw paw cream!! unexpected i know right

let me just tell you this shit is amazing

It somehow gets rid of pimples just as effectively as a pimple cream! I personally like to pop my pimples with the tools pictured below and then I will apply the paw paw cream and it will basically heal any broken skin, and make any traces of the pimple DISAPPEAR (like sometimes after you pop a pimple there’s still that yucky clear fluid in that bump that just won’t go down)

«

here’s also a face mask i use; it’s clay and works well to detox your skin but any face masks works well and you should be looking to do this maybe about once or week or whenever u feel like a little rejuvenation

«

finally just some tips for makeup

try go light on products you use

i generally like to use bb cream or cc cream and the ones below are cheap and good and i just apply it with my hands (washed and clean!!)

and rather than using full face foundation, I occasionally will use the tarte foundation in the place of a concealer because i find it blends into my b.b. cream and i’m just not the biggest fan of concealers

if you have greasy skin like me, I recommend also investing in a setting powder

I use thé mecca brand one but you don’t need anything too pricey like the laura mercier one everyone’s obsessed with. and i just like to dab it into oily zones like my t-zone and nose with a beauty blender

and this marks the end of my very very lengthy post but i just had to share my journey with you and I hope that if you try this, it will work wonders for you like it did for me!

lots of love xoxox
