Is this okay?

So my family doctor sent me to get ultrasounds at week 12 and 13 to do the test that checks for abnormalities. At week 12 she told me my OB should contact me and schedule an appt for the next month at 16w. Well im now 16 weeks and my OB called and scheduled my first appointment for when i will be 22 weeks!! Is this too late? I feel like i should be seen sooner just to make sure everything is okay and the baby is growing properly

No 19-22 weeks is generally when anatomy scans are done.

That’s fine, all the prenatal care up until that point can be done by a GP. The OB will be the one to do your glucose test and things like that, but if anything abnormal had been found up until that point you would have been referred faster! My GP has a OB/GYN PA in her office, but both of them do prenatal care.

why didn't you call an o.b. or midwife when you found out you were pregnant instead of a GP?
