Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and PT

Leela

I had my beautiful baby girl almost 7 months ago. Ever since, sex has been super uncomfortable and painful no matter how slowly we’ve taken things. I haven’t even been able to use a tamping. I’ve been making excuse after excuse about it saying I just need more time or blaming my IUD. I finally made an appointment with my OBGYN and was diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD). One of the ligaments that is from my pelvic floor to my right leg has completely tightened up and is going to require physical therapy. My OB said this isn’t something that would fix itself, and would probably even get worse over time. I’m making this post for two reasons....1) If you’re multiple months postpartum and sex still hurts, make an appointment! Get answers. I hadn’t heard of PFD, but I’m glad I finally have an answer and can work toward enjoying sex again. 2) If you’ve ever had physical therapy to help your PFD, I’d love to hear your experience! I’m really nervous about the whole process.
