How long after a positive opk do you actually ovulate?

I’m new to opks and I thought if you got a positive opk you were ovulating so you had to hurry up and baby dance but according to google you ovulate 12-36 hours after your surge I’m just wondering it that’s correct cause I’m pretty sure I had a LH surge 06/05-06/06 and we baby danced before my fiancé went to work on the 6th so I’m hoping we didn’t miss out this is our first time trying and using opks since my miscarriage

They say that it’s best if sperm is already there waiting when you ovulate so your method is right. This month I made sure we BDed from the day I was almost positive through 2 days of positive then again the day it went back to negative. I’m 8 only dpo so not sure if it worked yet. 🤞🏼

I am in the same boat. I have my smiley on 5th and 6th, bd on 4th and 5th, the 6th one was useless because he used lube, which according to research is not good for the sperm. So I am hoping for wonders only on 4th and 5th. We tried on the 7th but husband can’t come. :(
