IUD and no pull out?

So I just got my IUD placed on the 8th so I would have a better form of birth control and also so me and boyfriend can have condomless sex. My boyfriend keeps asking me if I think it would be safe for him to cum inside me instead of pulling out and honestly I’m not sure. Does the IUD work well enough to have sex without a condom or pull out method?

I think you should be fine. Just remember it doesn’t protect you from stds/stis 
But I think if you have it placed during your period it starts working right away. 
I’ve heard other people say it starts working right away no matter when it’s placed.

I had my IUD for 10 years and we never used condoms or pull out and I never got pregnant. I did get pregnant after only having it out for a month.
