Should I stay with him?

My boyfriend is the type of guy where everything needs to be his way. if we go see a movie, if it's not something he wants to see we wait for it to be on DVD even if I wanted to go see it. He would imply before that he was smarter than me. If I'm sending a text, he needs to approve the words before I send it, etc. Lately though I suppose he's noticed I've been distant and possibly realizes no other female would deal with his shit and started becoming more attentive and what not. However I've given him a second chance before. He changed back into a sweet and caring man for about 2 months before reverting back and I'm not sure if this time will just be a repeat. So my question is should I keep trying?
