We chose midwives. My baby girl was born at a birthing center surrounded by love and support. After laboring at home from 9pm to 11:30am we jumped in the car and drove 45 minutes to Origins Birthing Center in Keller, TX. I got there at a 5 and waited. Every moment that passes was filled with comfort, love, and wonder. She’s my first baby so I had no idea as to what to expect, but the environment allowed me to labor my way. I did squats, planks, lunges, and much more that helped with the pain and discomfort. My midwife allowed me to stay wherever I was when she came in to check Trinity’s stats. It was the most amazing feeling. I/we were in complete control. Trinity was born at 5:05pm in a warm tub with her Grandma, GodFather, Aunts, and closest friend cheering her on. Not one person had dry eyes when a peaceful prayer was whispered.
