34+3, High BP and super swollen ankles!

AnnaMarie • I`m AnnaMarie. Married 10/14/2017, and our son was born 7/20/2018. 💙

So I’m just over 34 weeks. Today we were at the pool with my in laws for father’s day and I looked down to see my ankles were CRAZY swollen. Mind you, I haven’t had any swelling at all this whole pregnancy except for a tiny bit in my hands.

This was around 4:45. I took a picture and sent it to my mom, cuz I know SOME swelling is okay but this seemed like a bit much. She agreed and told me to find a pharmacy to take my BP. So I told my husband we needed to go and we did. We got to the pharmacy and my BP was 143/86. That scared the shit out of me cuz my BP has been amazing this whole pregnancy usually around 125/70. Anyway, I called my OB and he wasn’t on call, the OB I don’t like was, so I was automatically upset about that. Once she called back she basically just said monitor my BP, and if I get a headache or blurry vision to go to L&D.; Haven’t had any issues like that, but my BP is still pretty high and won’t go down. I’ve had my feet propped up for the past 3 or 4 hours, and I’ve been downing water but the swelling isn’t improving and neither is my BP.

Taken around 9:50 pm

This is what my BP has been the past 5ish hours.

So I guess I’m just wondering if there’s anything I can do to get my BP down??? Like I said, I’ve been relaxing, keeping my feet elevated, drinking water, etc. I just don’t like that it’s not going down. 😞 Obviously I’m going to call my OB first thing in the morning to follow up but I’m just so nervous in the mean time. My little guy met his kick count and he’s still moving, so I think he’s fine...just nervous. 😞
