Can you get pregnant while breastfeeding?

This may be a silly question but I’ve read and heard a lot that it’s hard to get pregnant while breastfeeding and just read a post about a bunch of women who got pregnant just a couple months after having a baby (I don’t know if any of them breastfed or if that even matters) so I thought I’d ask the community at large for more clarity.

yupp! you may not get a period but many women still ovulate, you are also very fertile after you give birth

Yup I am currently pregnant with my third and am still breastfeeding. I had a body type that began regular periods after 6 weeks postpartum.

Yes you can! For some reason a lot of women think breastfeeding keeps them safe from pregnancy. But no girl. Lol you can def get pregnant

took me 11 months to get a period. i didn't get pregnant at all. i wanted to as well. i got a period then i got pregnant. still breastfeeding now. im 20 weeks now.

It is possible for some women who may start ovulating while breastfeeding. There is really know way to know if you’re ovulating (because you can ovulate before getting your first postpartum period). So, fine to try if that is your goal- and def use protection if you are NOT trying!!

I didn't get pregnant breastfeeding either two of my babes... my doctor said the only way to be protected from that method is if you don't give a single drop of formula. So if you don't supplement at all... just quoting my midwife. Someone else's doctor could say different. I did supplement and breastfed and never got pregnant. Maybe I was just lucky. Lol. However I am fertile myrtle so Idk now.

I don't get pregnant while breastfeeding but doesn't mean others may not. done it with after3 different pregnancies never gotten pregnant.
