Tonsillectomy
Has anyone here had their tonsils removed as an adult? For quite some time now I’ve been experiencing persistent fits of tonsillitis and pharyngitis, and I’ll be seeing an ENT tomorrow, and I’m terrified that a tonsillectomy will be his solution. I’ve heard terrible things about having it done as an adult, particularly about the recovery. As a college athlete I really don’t want to spend two weeks doing absolutely nothing and eating little to nothing and losing all the muscle mass I’ve been working so hard to gain for my senior seasons. Not only this, I’m just outright scared of the procedure if I’m being honest. Has anyone else had experience with this? Or maybe overly large tonsils and ways to prevent infections like this and avoid surgery? Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
