VBAC?? Rainbow Baby (& our 2nd child)

Question

I had a c-section with our son 4 years ago. I was 40w4d with no signs of labor and my son had a fetal arrhythmia, so we  decided induction was best. 2 rounds of cytotec and I never progressed past 1 cm (w/manipulation). I never actually felt labor or contractions. The chances of me actually going into labor with this sweet babe are slim to none but if I do go into labor I would like to try VBAC. I'm 34w1d currently and measuring 2 weeks ahead. I don't feel as if I have my doctors support for VBAC. He will be on vacation until July 18th and my due date is July 23rd. I'm so anxious and need some opinions of other mommas that have experienced VBAC or similar situations such as mine....

I haven’t ever had a C-section but I wanted to comment and tell you that what they say about every labor being completely different is true! I truly think every time your body is learning what to do and just because you didn’t progress the first time does NOT mean this baby could just shoot out! My first labor was 12 hours and he was giving us a bunch of scares. My second labor was 1 1/2 hours start to finish and I basically did it alone. We got to the hospital at 10 cm and I pushed in the hallway. I’m telling you, just because you had a certain experience doesn’t mean that will happen again! I have realized commenting on all these posts lately that I sound like a major hippy. But oh well...trust your body. If your body isn’t pushing or something then your body is telling you their is a reason they aren’t ready. I firmly believe for you that your first was safer coming via c-section. As weird as that sounds. But if your body wasn’t ready to progress then it knows what it’s doing. My first was born after hours of me laying upside down to keep his heart rate up...if I had pushed at certain times he might not have made it. Just listen to your body and if you have to have a c-section again...well then it was just meant to be. But either way...you are getting your baby! lol and for the record I have heard TONS of stories of successful VBAC’s that sound exactly like your story. Sorry this turned into a long rant! Look up the ICAN group on Facebook, they have tons of info on VBACs and the women are super supportive of newcomers asking questions!

while I'm  a ftm and due July 21 with our First so I'm just sharing friends experience. 
Yes you can! so I've been told. as long as there's no medical reasons why you can't try they can't force you to do c section. my friend siad mainly to speak up for yourself!  it's your body and your baby. she also highly recommended a doula or birth coach to advocate for you as her hubby was more of a support for her and  of course was scared too being his first child so doctors  knew best.  she said hiring the doula took alot of stress off them  both and  they could focus on the job rather than statistics and probability with the doctor. 
also! I was informed that doing lots of  ball bouncing and all the exercises  to get baby into proper position can greatly improve the probability of vbac. had a successful vbac with baby #2.
