Ok any current moms who have already experienced or anyone in late 3rd trimester.... thoughts on this?

My work does a training and awards ceremony every 3 months and it’s always 3 hours from where I live because that’s the central location for everyone in the state. It’s mandatory for all employees and they consider it a fireable offense if you miss it without permission, that’s how important they view it (even though I don’t, lol). Our next one is 3 weeks before my due date and I am super nervous about driving 3 hours and being that far from home right as my due date approaches. I am definitely not one to baby myself and haven’t really throughout this whole pregnancy, but at 37 weeks I just feel like it’s a bit different because literally anything could happen at any time and I don’t want to be stuck 3 hours from home, from my doctor, from my hospital, from my husband and family, from all our baby gear if for some reason something does happen that early. I am considering asking my doctor for a note to get me out of going but am afraid she’s going to say it’ll be fine and I’m being paranoid - only because she is a very laid back, don’t baby yourself kind of OB. Even if she says no to a note I’m still wanting to ask my boss if I can be excused from this one event. Am I being crazy for being this careful or do I have a real reason to feel like it’s not right to be going on a road trip at this point in my pregnancy?
