any advice for the newbie?

hello! i’m 16 years old and recently just began to get intimate with my boyfriend! i’ve told my mom about it and she asked our gynecologist for birth control options. we’re going to go through with it but idk when, is there anything i should expect when on birth control? i’ve been over weight my whole life and it’s really hard to lose it due to my insulin resistance ( my body can’t process glucose so it makes it fat ) 
will my weight sky rocket and make me heavier? what will happen to my hormones? will anything get bigger??

I’m also 16 and tomorrow i will be starting my third week of the pills. 
my boobs have gotten a little bigger and i gained a couple pounds due to my appetite getting larger (hungrier then usual)
i started my pills on a wednesday so wed1 means first wednesday taking it and wed2 is second, i’ve been writing down my side effects and symptoms every night (i take them at 12pm everyday) and these are what they’ve been so far

my side effects may look rough but they’re not that bad, although i do get really nauseous but it’s only during the night.

I noticed that we me I did lose some weight my skin was clearer and my boobs did get much more bigger than before so I would recommend the pill for you at that age

It depends on the type you’re on and your body. I’m on the pill and didn’t gain any, I’ve actually lost weight (although that’s not from the pill, I’ve changed my diet some). The shot is known for weight gain but it doesn’t cause everyone to gain weight.

Different people have different reactions to different types. Definitely read the leaflet of anything you’re given and see if the possible side effects are worth it.
