When is it too early

13 almost 14 weeks now I’ve been getting things here and there my son(know the gender bc of genetic testing) but was wondering how soon did u ladies start on your nursery’s and putting things up? I wanna start in the next few weeks but would it be too soon? This is my first so I’m excited but wanna be prepared as well.. when will you start?

We started buying things before we knew the gender. 
We found out the gender today (I’m 13+2) and bought some paint samples for the nursery. I’m going with my mom to pick out nursery furniture tomorrow. 
There’s no such thing as too early!

I’m 14+1. I bought the nursery furniture 2 weekends ago. I just feel like its easier to budget if I buy things early enough rather than dumping it all on myself in the last few months. Also, i’m glad I got the furniture early because the finish on all the wood smells pretty bad and will need a few months to air out.

as far as buying I'd do it throughout the pregnancy so you can spread out the cost and watch for sales to get the best deals. some things you can wait until after kiddo comes to get like highchair and convertable carseat (unless using it from the beginning) that way that expense comes later and its not cluttering up your house in the mean time. as far as setting everything up I'd wait until more like a month or 2 before hand so that everything isn't just sitting around getting all dusty/musty.

I started recently too because babies r us is closing and they’ve had amazing deals. It was almost stupid not to get the stuff I wanted!

With my son, we started buying as soon as we knew he was a boy to space it out over time. We mostly just piled the stuff in his room until 30 weeks and then I started washing all the clothes, my husband started painting and assembling furniture etc and we had his nursery all set to go by 33 weeks. We will probably work on a similar timeline with this little girl.

We are going to start as soon as we know the gender! I’m a teacher so I know once school starts again that I’m going to be extremely busy and probably tired until baby comes!!
