Has anyone had jaw surgery?

I’m having double jaw surgery in 3 days and I’m Terrified, the aftermath of getting my wisdom teeth out was much more painful for me than the average person so I can’t imagine how much worse this is going to be... plus my mom wants to take us all on a 9+ hour roundtrip the next day, right after I’m discharged from the hospital... has anyone had the surgery before who can tell me what it was like or reassure me?

Hey! I just had double jaw surgery a little less than a week ago and I do not suggest the road trip. I had to stay overnight at the hospital and it was hard even just trying to rest there. Some people also become nauseous after surgery and being in a car will definitely make that worse. For me, there wasn’t much pain but rather discomfort and awkwardness. Let those around you help as much as possible. I hope this helped a little and I hope your surgery and recovery will go better than expected.

you arent gonna wanna go on a 9+ hour trip after that, thats for sure. and you'll be alright, is someone gonna help you afterward? like drive you home and help you around the house?
