name help

I was thinking that if we have a boy, I would like to name him after my SOs brother who died over seas. but my boyfreind is also a veteran and has some PTSD because he had to be the one to escort his brothers body home. I'm not sure how to being this up with out triggering any kind of regression in his progress. he is mostly in control of his symptoms, and doesn't have an official diagnosis because he is still in the reserves. but it's really important to me for him and our child to have a close relationship and pay homage to his past. is this too far? should I reconsider?
