Do you text/use your phone while driving?

I posted this a week ago but it was deleted...

My phone goes in my purse and I do not take it out until I get from A to B, etc. I do not even bother with bluetooth for calls. My friends have complimented me while I'm driving because I never reach for my phone. I've been on car trips 6 hours and wait until we stop to gas up to check it. I really don't take those compliments too much to heart since I believe it's simple as responsible driving.

I have been following this religiously after I totaled my car in my early twenties. Mind you, the driver had not used his turn signal (not an excuse for my carelessness) and the brief moment I looked down at my phone and back up BAM.

Thankfully, no one was injured. The guy with the truck did not even sustain car or bodily harm. I learned a valuable lesson. Even a brief moment of taking my eyes off the road caused me to total my car.

I have gone almost 3 years without a speeding ticket and 10 years accident free. My pocket is thankful for lower cost of INS coverage too.
