pelvic pain after sex?

Hi everyone! Before I start, I just want you to know that I have an appointment with my doctor so I will be seeking professional help, I just wanted to see if this had happened to anyone else or if they have any ideas about what it is. Thanks!

Okay so I have always been super irregular and have had really bad cramps during periods and it hasn’t gotten better since i got on birth control (nexplanon implant) over a year ago. This is fine because I’m still happy with the benefits of using it! I’ve also always had some difficulty of feeling some abdominal/pelvic pain and or nausea after having sex, which may not be a normal thing but it’s always been normal to me.

So about a week ago I had just had sex with my boyfriend when I had some seriously intense pain in my lower abdomen area that felt like the worst period cramps ever, to the point where i considered driving myself to the ER. I barely slept that night and the pain very slowly lessened over the next couple days. Now it’s a week later, I started my period today, and the area where there was pain is still super sore.

If anyone has any clue about what this is or experience like this let me know!!
