metformin side effect relief??

I just started metformin as a prep for IVF, but the side effect are TERRIBLE! nausea, dizziness, sweating, shaking, diarrhea, the works. anyone ever found a way to ease the symptoms?? I had to leave work today because I almost passed out a few times. any recommendations are welcome!

Regular metformin killed me! I couldn’t do anything and probably only worked 20 hours the two weeks I was on it. I switched to the extended release formula and it was a world of difference. Been on that for 2 years now and feeling so much better. I almost never have any side effects now.

I was having bad side effects on metformin and my doctor switched me to metformin extended release, that helped a ton!! Maybe that’s something you can talk with your doctor about?

Did your doctor have you start out with a really low dose so you can work up to the full one?

Take Metformin with meals. The only thing is Diarrhea and nausea.

metformin is used so commonly for hormones and fertility, yet I think its forgotten its also a drug used to treat diabetes and help lower blood sugars.
