Baby's first Fourth of July?

My son is 8 months and we don't know what to do for his first Fourth! Cookouts are out because we live in an apartment. I'm afraid the sound of fireworks will scare him? What did y'all do for your babies first fourth?

I took my daughter to the fireworks when she was six months old… I got her those noise canceling headphones and she loved it. She was not afraid. Every baby is different though! Maybe you can just pack a picnic, go to the park, and light up some sparklers for her or something (obviously just to show to her, not for her to use or play with).

Our daughter was only 5 weeks old for her first fourth so we kept it low-key at home :) this year she's 13 months and we'll be going to a BBQ at our friend's apartment and then heading downtown (San Diego) for the fireworks show. We'll probably have some pool time in there as well.

Son is 6 weeks. We’re taking him to a parade in a cute outfit. Fourth of July is my husband’s town festival that he hasn’t missed in 32 years, so it’s a big deal to him that he share it with his son. 🙂 We’re skipping fireworks this year though.

We went to a floatila all day on a boat 😂 he slept most of the time. (It was a big boat with an ac cabin.)

My son was just over four months old his first Fourth of July. We did fireworks in the street (mortars are illegal her in CA but some of the neighbors still set them off a few blocks away). He slept through it all, didn’t even twitch.

I waited till my daughter  was two. we watched fire works online and made sure she wasn't scared of load noises. that year we didn't sit close to the fire works.but close enough to see and hear them. when they started I was holding her and made positive sounds and ooos and awes for her she loved them.
