is it okay to only work with a midwife and not an OB?

Bethany • 33-year-old mom to a 4-year-old little girl 🩷 baby #2 on the way! 🍼🙏 Praying for a healthy and thriving pregnancy

the Care Center that I've been going to since I found out I was pregnant only has me see a midwife. If I'm considered high risk then they will introduce me to an OBGYN. Is that normal? Two of my friends who were both high-risk are telling me I should find a doctor and not just have a midwife.
