So we just confirmed that we are having our second missed miscarriage and I’m just looking for anyone who has gone through this and can give insight. What were you tested for? What tips do you have? Did they figure out what was causing your miscarriages? Tell me your success stories!

They tested my thyroid and said that everything looks normal, but they are really seeming to fight testing me for other stuff because I’m young and I haven’t had 3 consecutive losses.

My plan so far is to demand blood work immediately after a positive test next time so we can catch it in time if it’s my progesterone levels (my doctor has never once checked my levels and never wants to see me until 8 weeks which has been too late each time). I’m also going to be probably taking baby aspirin whether my doctor agrees or not because they don’t want to test me for blood clotting issues until a 3rd loss....

I’ve heard that *missed* miscarriages aren’t super common so I don’t understand why they aren’t concerned as I’ve had two consecutively.

Here’s the background:

1st mc - appointment at 8 weeks: baby measured 6 weeks; no heartbeat. Appointment a week later showed no changes. Took misoprostol/cytotec at the 10 week mark because my body wasn’t doing anything to get rid of it (no spotting or cramping).

2nd mc - appointment at 8 weeks: baby measured 6 wks 3 days; no heartbeat. Appointment week later they could barely find what was supposedly the baby - was measuring 5 weeks, so much smaller. Still no spotting and still having my symptoms. Will be taking pills again a couple days before 10 week marker.
