Will the new tariffs change your buying?

Question

As we all know as of July 1st there are new trade tariffs in place thanks to Donald trump. We are in Canada and own a business that did previously import about 25% of our goods from the US. We have now made a company policy that we will no longer purchase any goods from the US and will avoid all made in USA products (ones that we buy locally already imported). 
Personally and business wise I feel very passionate about limiting my purchases of any US imports going forward. 
Of course when our US supplier got the news the large multi million dollar contact to buy steel from them has been cancelled they were concerned. 
If you are American are you worried that the tariffs will reduce the USAs export finances and overall economy? 
If you are a country affected by the tariff are you making an effort to avoid supporting the USA going forward? 
Has your country put tariffs in place as retaliation tariffs? (Canada has and I hope they do more)

I was reading up on this early. This is going to negatively impact our economy and there will be a huge loss of jobs. It’s already been reported by some major companies.

The trade war is definitely going to go down in history.  Its going to be suspenseful to watch (I say suspenseful because I dont know exactly how its going to play out).  Prices on many of our goods will rise.  BUT with this comes the potential for American entrepreneurs to step up and fill a need, of which in the long run can make prices go down.  The jury’s still out on this one 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a very complex problem. If we continue with unfair trade, companies suffer too as their products become more expensive in other countries that tariff American products more than others. Or our inability to tariff foreign products makes those foreign products cheaper to Americans thus putting american businesses at a disadvantage again. We cannot as a country and with jobs becoming more automated, have a bright future economically when we have trade deals that let other countries tax our stuff excessively and we cannot tax their products in the same way. The economy is also otherwise booming, so the pain of trying to better balance trade for our future is minimized. If we had tried to do this eight years ago it would have been much more painful, so I think it’s smart we try and renegotiate now while things are good. That said those with little foresight or economic understanding  will just use this to further their hatred. Those in other countries I would expect the be pissed, after all they’ve been giving us the short end of the stick for years and have come to expect it. Now that they’re getting a taste of their own medicine, it’s clear they aren’t so keen about it so hopefully they come to the negotiating table or reveal themselves as hypocrites.

My city has one of the highest concentrations of foreign business in the US. I'm honestly not well versed in how this will effect foreign businesses with locations in the US...but I am pretty terrified this means bad things to come for our local economy here

Definitely am a little concerned. Don’t know much about it, but do know the us has a negative imports and exports. I can only assume if we have less exports our economy will go down. Also concerned about tariffs because are president has to always get the last word in. Wouldn’t be surprised if he started a tariff war just because of his pride🤷‍♀️

It’s definitely concerning to me. But honestly I will pay more for quality and when it comes to cars, for example, Honda is the best in my opinion. I’d rather take the bus than buy a ford. I do worry about people losing jobs.
