Pedicure while pregnant?! Is it okay??

Going to get my toes done with my mother in law tomorrow for the 4th. I’m 5 almost 6 weeks pregnant. Is it safe for me to get a pedi done at this stage?? She doesn’t know yet and we’re going to tell them tomorrow during 4th of July! Any advise! And did you ladies still go get manis and pedis while pregnant?

Yes! I get mine done about once a month. I’m 31 weeks today. My doctor said it was perfectly fine, and is actually good for blood circulation in your legs and feet also..
I also got mine done often when I was pregnant with my first as well!

I understand your concern and rightfully so, as a nail tech I've heard all sorts of horror stories about nail salons that use illegal products that when breathing in can cause chemical damage to pregnancies leading to miscarriages (my friend being one of the unfortunate people to experience this)!! These salons are the ones that wear masks in their shops...!! Stay clear of them. They are not wearing masks to "prevent inhaling the dust" otherwise why wouldn't ALL nail technicians want to prevent that?? 🤔 Think ladies and please go to a respectable and mask free salon xx

My mother in law told me she had a friend who worked in the nail salon her whole pregnancy and the baby was fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You’re fine! I got acrylics while pregnant and the nail tech and I just made sure to sit me near a window and give me good ventilation. (Which I appreciated from their salon). Baby came out just fine :)

I'm currently 27 weeks. I believe I had them done at 20 and 25 weeks. Both times I wore a mask. Better safe than sorry.

Wear a mask if you can and DO NOT TURN ON THE MASSAGE SETTINGS ON THE CHAIR idk why but when my sister was pregnant her nail lady told her she can’t use the massage chair while pregnant so she never did ❤️

I wouldn’t go to a nail salon while pregnant because of the fumes. I guess once would probably be ok and hopefully not have any harmful effects, but it’s not good for you, let alone your baby, to make a habit of it.
