Should I be worried?

So I went to my OB this afternoon for a routine appointment, and my blood pressure was 140/83. That’s quite high compared to what it normally is for me, mine is normally low. I’ve also had a lot of swelling in my hands and feet, and the OB seemed concerned that I’m in the early stages of preeclampsia. She said we’re gonna monitor it really closely for the next few weeks, and if she is really that concerned, we’re gonna run the tests. 
Should I be worried? I’m paranoid this pregnancy as it is, but if it’s something that isn’t too serious, I mean...I just want my baby to be okay.

I had normal BP readings up until about 30 weeks. Then all of a sudden I was getting 130s/90s at my check ups. All of my urine tests and bloodwork came back normal (no protein in urine, etc), so they waited a little bit to be overly concerned. They did make me come in weekly instead of every 2 weeks from that point to monitor everything for preeclampsia. At my 34 week check up they finally diagnosed me with gestational hypertension which they recommend delivery between 37-38 weeks. So I will be induced July 10 (38 weeks exactly) if she doesn’t come on her own or my symptoms don’t turn into preeclampsia. So long as you are getting monitored closer than usual by your doctor and really watch for preeclampsia signs, you should be ok! There is always the chance they may want to induce early though if your BP remains high up until 37-38 weeks. Hope this helps!
