Cervical cancer?!?

Update: I got a call from my DR today, he said i am at a 3 out of 4, so it’s precancerous but not cancerous. He wants to do a follow up in 12 weeks and do another colposcopy and potentially another biopsy, but to wait and see if it progresses. If it does become cancerous I will have to deliver 2 months early.

Has anyone else had an abnormal pap? Today my DR took a longer look at my cervix because he’s concerned about cervical cancer. He ended up taking a biopsy because it was concerning enough, but not cancer yet. He said the biopsy has a 4-5% chance of causing a miscarriage. I’m really nervous and confused because he said this could cause me to need to deliver two months early if it’s progressing. Is anyone else going through this or has gone through this? I can’t stop crying and I’m petrified.

Cervical cancer takes a really long to develop! I had abnormal paps and ended up doing two LEEP procedures and one cold knife cone biopsy over the last three years. Now I am HPV free! Don’t stress out. Even if your test comes back positive, you can wait until after the baby is born to have the precancerous cells removed. It can take years to develop full on cervical cancer so no need to worry. They are just being overly cautious.

Cervical cancer typically comes from only a few strains of HPV and is very slow to develop. I have had abnormally paps the last few years and a couple colposcopys done, it has never progressed and they have just been “monitoring” it I wouldn’t worry too much as long as they catch it you should be totally fine, I know it’s impossible but try not to worry

I am so sorry to hear this and praying for you! I had a pap on 6/25 and still haven’t heard the results. I’m pretty nervous. Did he do the pap and then the results came back abnormal so he examined it more closely? Or did he notice something as he did the pap?

I’ve had SEVERAL abnormal pap’s...I think last year I had like 4 come up abnormal. Had a biopsy and it came back within in the normal range. Just had another pap about 3 months ago and it finally came back normal(🙌🏻). Apparently if you have hpv it can make abnormal pap’s for a year then go into remission for years.

I had an abnormal pap about ten years ago. It resolved on its own. They often do. I never had a biopsy though. 
Do you get a regular pap?

I recently had my cervix looked at due to pregnancy reasons and the dr noticed something on there which she wasn’t sure if it was scar tissue from the previous stitch or it was something more concerning I’ve been made an appointment to have a closer look but I was told that if it is something like cancer they won’t do anything or take biopsy until I have the baby as I’m high risk but it is very nerve racking.

my pap came back abnormal too! really scary to hear. My doctor said that because I'm pregnant they will not do a biopsy, but will do a colposcopy when I'm 16 weeks to check it out. I'm 12 weeks now, so the wait is killing me.

I had HPV a few years ago which was found due to an abnormal pap. I had another abnormal pap and biopsy right before I got pregnant. He said (mine at least) was okay and we can deal with it after I give birth.

I had an abnormal pap this pregnancy. I had one 4 years ago and didn’t have another my last two pregnancies. I’m nervous about it honestly my dr hasn’t called me yet but I seen it online.
