This woman, Stacey, was initially sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing her dad. Background: When she was alittle girl, her dad became extra fond of her more than his other girls. She became his favorite. One day, he started sexually abusing her. He would rape and molest her. This was ongoing for about ten years. She was going to tell her mom when she was a kid when it first started happening, but the dad said her mom already knew and didn't care which was a lie, but of course, the little girl believed him, so she stayed quiet. When she was 18, she decided to move out and live with her mom. She believed she had to go back though because her little sister who was still living with the dad called her begging for her to come back and help her, so she did. When she got back, her dad was very drunk. He threatened to shoot their dog with a gun which was nearby. The fight turned violent. She wasn't being sexually abused at that time. The defense, psychologist, and some cops that worked the case believe due to past trauma, that's why she killed her dad. However, there was no proof of sexual abuse because she never told anybody about it until she confessed. Psychologists believe Stacey began to dissociate like some rape victims tend to do, and she shot her dad twice killing him. She did not confess to her killing her dad right away, and there is some speculation that she did it for her dad's money, but that was never proven. Some people believe she deserved to be let off. Some believe she deserved a lesser sentence. Some believe she got what she deserved which is life. What do you think?
