Google home birth midwives in your area. If you want to use insurance, cross check your search results with your insurance network. If you have multiple options, set up appointments to consult with them and decide if they’re a good fit. If you like them, use them for your prenatal care and they’ll guide you through the process. If you don’t have any in your area and have a low risk pregnancy and especially if your last birth was uncomplicated, you could look into free birthing unassisted or with a traditional midwife. You could still see another midwife or OB for prenatal care and just deliver baby at home yourself, or skip prenatal care altogether.
Baby #2
Our first baby we had in the hospital because I was 17 and was very freaked out by giving birth since I have clinical anxiety and all. But this time I really want to do an at home birth. I’d love to hear your stories and advice and anything you have to offer. I just found out I’m pregnant with #2 so birth is a long way off but would love to explore this option in depth.
