crib bars

So my daughter just turned 2months old, she is in her crib now. She done this on her bassinet 2 weeks being home from hospital and never put her back in it. But she will turn side ways and move all the way to the crib bars and press her head up against them. Is that normal and safe? I dont have any bumper pads as they say to just have a tight fitted sheet in crib, she don't cry I just think that would hurt he soft spots her moving and pressing head against it. Also she wants to sleep on side and no matter how many times I reposition her back on her back she'll turn on her side. FTM
