Should I be in pain??

38+4 Trying to kick start labor. I've had light inconsistent contractions all morning, I decided to jump on my yoga ball & everytime I come down its like a crampy/stabby feeling on my cervix & lower back. Yesterday at my appointment I was half a centimeter dilated & 70% effaced. Is this pain a good thing? Should I continue bouncing?? Will it possibly induce labor??
