Baby Inspired Tattoo?

My husband and I have been wanting to get a tattoo in honor of our baby since before I was even pregnant. Now my baby is 3 weeks old and we still have no clue what design or anything! 
If you got a tattoo in honor of your child can you please share some design inspiration! 💗

Mine is a less obvious peice for a child that passed. dragonflies only live 7 months the particular species is from where the father is from, the flowers I was given after I came home, and the pink to blue because I didn't want to know the gender even after the stillbirth. It was very healing and took something painful and left me with something beautiful to commemorate. It doesn't always have to be dates or footprints. I'd recomend consulting with an artist and having them help you with the vision.

My daughters right now are 2 & 5 they are total opposites in every way. and my five year old loves mermaids so when I saw this pic I had to get it for my kids. he even added their eye color for me.

I’m planning on getting a gladiolus since my son was born in August and that’s the flower. When he’s older I hope to get his name in his handwriting.

I got a baby elephant the trunk being up means good luck before I knew I was pregnant and I just got my child’s birthdate in Roman numerals yesterday.

I don’t have kids but my sister has 2 tattoos for my niece. One is of her footprint and I believe her name and date of birth. My niece is 5 now and my sister just got the other tattoo. It’s a drawing my niece made, the tattoo artist sketched it exactly how my niece drew it and just transferred the art that way. 
I love both of those ideas and will probably do the same when my time comes.
