Getting pregnant soon after marriage
Sooo I need some advice. I’ve been w my fiancé for over five years now and we are getting married next spring. We are young (23 when we get married) but like I said we have been together for a long time. We both finished our degrees, have good jobs in our fields, live together, have bought new cars, are buying a house, etc. so I would say we are further along and more mature than most other people we know our age.
I think as a result of us already being together for so long and the fact that we already have done so much that a lot of people sometimes have not done yet at this age, we don’t want to wait too long after our wedding to get pregnant because we are just ready and feel like we are already in that stage of life. We have the finances to do it as well.
My problem is that my parents are not happy about this idea. His parents would be thrilled and let us make our own decisions. However my parents would probably freak out and are constantly telling us how “we need to wait ten years to have kids” and how we really need to “travel and live our lives” first (funny thing is we have traveled to multiple countries together already). They’re just constantly saying how we need to wait and how we shouldn’t be rushing, etc.. but we aren’t rushing! If it’s what we want I don’t see the issue. Any advice/similar experiences? What did you do/say? What would you recommend I do/say?
EDIT: I understand where people are coming from saying to enjoy each other but we already do that know. We already live together and travel all the time and do what we want so I don’t see how doing it when we are actually married is any different.
EDIT 2: also by “soon after marriage” I mean like maybe a year after not literally right away
