Miscarriage and no period yet

Hi I had a miscarriage on 5/9 and still no period. I just had an ultrasound done this morning and the radiology said he saw “something” but did not know what it was and to wait for the doctor to call me. Now I’m getting cramps. Has anyone had a healthy successful pregnancy right after a miscarriage with out waiting for a period after a miscarriage ?

I did have 2 gestational sacs seen at the ultrasound but than had a miscarriage (twins 😔) maybe that’s what’s taking to long.
