Should I get the IUD?

Question

Women who have had the iud, how do you like it? How painful was it? Have you had any complications? I’m thinking about getting it and I want to be prepared .

I loved my IUD at first, however the insertion was painful for me. 
My periods are horribly cramps, i stay home from school/work, i throw up, ya know? I got the IUD in hopes of stopping my period, but my body did not enjoy the IUD.
I had pain from my uterus down to my vagina and it came in waves. I could be eating dinner pain free, and then next second I’m crying because it hurts so bad.
I was scared to eat my IUD out but after 4 months I decided I needed to. The pain of taking it out was just a slight cramp. I really wish i could have kept my IUD.
I think you should try it! Worst thing that happens is you get it taken out 🤷🏼‍♀️

I hadn’t had a baby yet when I got the iud but it wasn’t so bad getting it put in. I constantly felt it, bled a lot, it ended up getting stuck in my cervix and pinching me. I had to get it removed and it was worse then getting it put in

My sister has one and she likes it, she’s almost 21 and wants her tubes tied. She had a rough insertion though, the doctor said she had a small uterus so she cramped a lot.
I tried to get one (3 times 🙄) but I have a very tilted uterus and they could not get the wand past my cervix. My cervix was also very slippery and they had to keep readjusting the cervical clamps. I was clamped open for 15-20 minutes each time, with them trying to shove the wand past the 90 degree angle of my cervix. The problem is that that shit don’t move all willy nilly, you can’t just try to manipulate it and pray it works. I passed out the first time and almost did again the second time, it was the most pain I’ve ever been in. They said the only thing that would help was getting pregnant, as the uterus moves naturally during pregnancy and should go into a regular position after birth, so although my experience sucked ass I do plan on getting one after my baby is born.
