What can I do?
So, my next door neighbors are literally pigs. They don’t pay their trash bill, but they’re able to buy 2 30 packs of beer a week. They have a dog that looks unbelievably malnourished, a 4-year old who’s always outside by himself with no one watching him, trash building up on both sides of the house (beside the church and our side), and multiple animals that just sit outside and has ended up destroying some of our stuff that we keep outside (lawn mower cover, grill cover, etc.)
The neighbor’s house is an exact replica of ours. I know this because we looked at it before we decided on the one we moved into. (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom.) so I know the 4 year old doesn’t have a bedroom unless he’s sleeping in his parents room.
I’ve contacted our landlord about it three times already. My landlord and I have discussed that there are certain measures he has to take to avoid legal issues first, but I’ve been told that the kid and his wife/girlfriend isn’t on the lease, which clearly violates it and the fact he isn’t paying trash is violating the terms.
My landlord still hasn’t done anything about it and it’s now causing mice, mosquitoes, and other wildlife to be around our house that aren’t needed. (Mostly mice and mosquitoes we’re worried about. Nothing you can do about groundhogs.) we’ve caught at LEAST over 30 mice since winter all because this guy doesn’t take his trash out.
What can I do next since my landlord hasn’t done anything? I can’t have a newborn baby around this and we don’t have the money to move to get away from it.
