Opinions on having your SO at baby shower?

So my SO family thinks he shouldn’t be there AT ALL. I’m nervous because his family isn’t all that fond of me due to us having a baby at 20, so I’m just nervous to be without him with his family. My side of the family however thinks my SO should be there for support. Please let me know your opinion and/or your comments! Thanks ladies

If you have a co-ed shower it’s fine of course. But if it’s all women I wouldn’t bring my husband.

The only shower I’m having is the one my boss is throwing me at work and my husband will be there. Actually, the only other non-work people that will be there besides him are my mom and best friend. I hate being the center of attention and wasn’t going to have a shower at all but honestly it’ll relieve some stress by not having to buy everything ourselves. And my boss was so hellbent on throwing me a shower that she’s being very accommodating to my introversion by keeping the shower short, “come and go”, and making it an “unwrapped” shower where everyone just puts a card on their gift without wrapping it so I don’t have to open things in front of everyone (which makes me uncomfortable). Having my husband there will help my anxiety considerably.

It’s our baby so yes, I had my husband involved. We did a co-ed shower. Plus I HATE being Center of attention so it helped having him around me :)

It's his baby too so why shouldn't he be there? Plus you need his support so you won't be stressed/nervous. Have him there girl!

My husband was at both. One was co-ed and the other he was the only male. The way I see it, it's his child too. Why shouldn't he be there?

My husband will be at ours. We’re having a coed shower because I can’t handle being around that many women and children at one time. I need variety. Plus, I need my husband as a buffer.

When I get pregnant I plan on having a mixed baby shower. This isn’t the old days when men were always busy working and having babies was a woman thing for them to deal with... 
A man should be just as excited as you about having a baby, and should want to celebrate with you.
